Here I am finally blogging on the 121st day of the year. 121 days have passed this year and this is my first blog of the year. With everything going on lately, I’ve had a lot of thoughts but lacked the courage to express them. I’m glad to have this blog as it is that space that allows me to express myself in words.
2020. It’s already been one heck of a year. So much drama it seems. The whole
country world is basically still shut down from coronavirus. When everything is closed down, bars, restaurants, shopping malls, movie theaters, salons, etc. it doesn’t bother me. Freedom to me isn’t found in any of those things.
True freedom comes in knowing Christ and having a relationship with Him.
I know with God I can be who I want to be. I can be the person I desire to be. I can be kind and loving. I can be the person who is confident entering a room full of strangers. I can be the person who isn’t afraid to write or share my opinions or life with others.
I believe wholeheartedly God is using this time right now to enlighten people to His truth and His word. So many ideals have been stripped away all at once.
Bars. Clubs. Restaurants. Shopping malls. Movie theaters. Salons. Amusement parks. All the events, places… things, we humans use to distract ourselves from our problems, from our life… have been put on pause. I believe that pause is God saying:
This is an opportunity to explore what a true relationship with God looks like. This is an opportunity to grow as a person- learn a new skill, pick up a new hobby, write that book, sing that song, etc. I just want to encourage you tonight, to keep going and do not give up. God is working in the midst of all of this. God is still at work in this world and in peoples hearts. I believe this is a monumental time in history where God is truly intervening in all of our lives and saying “WAKE UP!”
Take the blinders off
open your heart
to the possibilities
of a new beginning
one where you are made whole
one where striving and ceasing fail
and you can find yourself
and see yourself
through the eyes of someone
who has never stopped loving you
just as you are
-take the blinders off and see Christ
Sending peace and love to you all,
